During a time of rapid technological advancement, open discussion on the role of digital law in an international context is valuable. A few weeks prior to the enforcement of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the students of the Digital Law Masters Programme of Paris Descartes and the Intellectual Property and New Technologies Masters Programme of the Autonomous University of Madrid are pleased to invite you to the European Digital Law Symposium, which will take place on Friday March 23th at 12, rue de l’Ecole de médecine, 75006 Paris. The day-long symposium will be structured around two discussions and will be conducted in English: MORNING (9h30-12h30): DATA PROTECTION/ GDPR: Many topics such as data transfers, privacy shield or smart cities & data protection will be presented from the French and Spanish perspectives. AFTERNOON (14h30-17h30) : ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE : The afternoon discussion will focus on various elements of artificial intelligence (predictive justice, autonomous vehicles and more). Post-Event Drinks Reception: At the end of the presentation, attendees are welcome to participate in further discussion with students and professors over drinks.
